INTENTION
Spring is a season of renewal, not through effort, but through ease. After the quiet of winter, this is often the first month you can feel a little clarity returning, a sense of what you actually want, rather than just getting through.
Yoga, at its heart, is a practice of homecoming, through presence. First to yourself, then to the people you love, then to the world around you. This week is a chance to practise exactly that, through simple, grounded yoga and mindfulness, with nothing to prove and nowhere else to be.

What to Expect
Morning practice - 90 minutes of mindful movement, blending alignment-based yoga, somatic strength work, and meditation. These sessions help you feel rooted and strong in your body, and make space for real self-understanding, not fixing anything, just noticing what's true for you.
Afternoons - invite rest, reflection and creativity. You might choose quiet time on the terrace, conversation, or a walk through the mountain paths. We'll also offer three optional group activities, such as a visit to a local olive-oil producer, a cookery class, or a guided walk in the hills, all designed to connect you with the richness of the local culture and landscape.
Late practice - 90 minutes of somatic movement, restorative yoga, or mindfulness, easing you into rest and quiet. Restorative yoga fully supports the body so it can properly let go, easing the nervous system out of "doing" mode and into real rest. A chance to properly come home to yourself, before we gather for supper.
After supper you're welcome to have precious time alone, or enjoy casual conversation.
The rhythm holds both structure and spaciousness, so you can find your own clarity, at your own pace. Do as much or as little as you wish.
The Setting
Las Chimeneas is a family-run retreat centre in the small village of Mairena, nestled in the Alpujarra mountains between Granada and the Mediterranean coast.
With stone-built houses, wide terraces, and panoramic views over olive groves and valleys, it’s a place that naturally invites stillness, presence, and inspiration.
Meals are prepared with care from fresh, seasonal ingredients, shared around a long table in the warmth of community.
This daily rhythm of eating well, moving mindfully, and resting deeply allows body and mind to find balance — creating space for renewal and inspiration.
The stillness of the landscape naturally invites you to slow down — to listen, breathe, and soften back into presence.

Who This Retreat Is For
This week is for you if you're the one everyone else relies on, at work, at home, or both, and you've quietly stopped putting yourself on that list. If slowing down feels indulgent, even though you know you need it. If you're ready to stop running on empty and actually feel like yourself again.
We welcome beginners or those wishing to deepen practice. You just need curiosity and openness to explore.

"I'm the CEO of a business, and the CEO of a house too. Retreats create moments that can feel selfish, but I've reframed that as self-care, because if I don't look after me, there's no business, and my family would be lost without me too.
I've been part of Louise's community for nearly ten years. Her style has changed over that time, and it's matched what I need now too. She has this way of saying almost exactly what's needed at the right moment."

About Louise
Louise has been a dedicated student and practitioner of yoga and meditation for over 30 years and has been teaching since 2011. Throughout her career, she has focused on supporting women through life’s many transitions—physical, emotional, and spiritual—in her roles as teacher, doula, and mentor.
Her teaching encourages self-inquiry through cultivating self-trust and deeper awareness of one’s own perceptions and inherent wisdom. Motivated by a wish to help people enjoy their bodies and experience psychological and emotional wellbeing, she keeps her teaching points relatable—dispelling myths where needed and making practice accessible to all. She understands the importance of tending to past experiences with care and compassion as an essential part of healing. Believing in the power of community, her classes are inclusive, welcoming, and grounded. Louise weaves spirituality, heart, and passion into her teaching, inspiring students to discover their own reasons for practice.
Louise’s teaching integrates embodied movement, mindfulness, and grounded spirituality. She is trained in multiple yoga and somatic disciplines, including experiential anatomy, somatic strength, menopause yoga and Restorative Yoga, and is a graduate of the two year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Programme with world renowned teachers Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. She has taught in diverse settings and currently facilitates mindfulness programs for those affected by cancer, focusing on resilience, compassion, and nervous system regulation.
Louise lives in Surrey, UK, with her husband and dog, and is mother to two young adult sons and two step-sons. She spends as much time outdoors as possible and loves hiking, exploring, cooking, music and meaningful connection.
