11-14 September 2025
Women's Yoga & Meditation Retreat, 11-14 September 2025
This will be a special one! I'm excited to host at this stunning location, simply magical, a place to feel at home in nature.
Expect daily yoga & meditation, walking, play, incredible food, fireside chats and time to relax.

Erth Barton is an historical, organic, ethical and riverside retreat.

It marries its medieval roots with a 21st century vision of offering the opportunity to live simply, wildly, immersed in the unspoilt natural landscape surrounded by wildlife .

Erth Barton’s position, is elevated on Erth hill, with views from large granite mullion windows over the River Lynher that snakes around both its sides.

The movement of the tidal river breathes in and out twice daily bringing an ever-changing landscape and light.

As soon as you drive onto the peninsula, you’re entering another world.

Wild flowers, buzzards, skylarks, swallows, geese, egrets, fallow deer in the oak filled woodlands, and owls in the trees at night call across the river…..

Grounded and Nourished
You’re invited to spend 4 days in the magical ‘forgotten’ corner of Cornwall, retreating with a small group of women at the uniquely special venue of Erth Barton.
Retreats are a precious opportunity to look at your life, reflect on things, and make positive changes. With time away from responsibilities and the to-do list you’ll be able to drop your shoulders and your burdens in order to reconnect with what matters most. You’ll get back in touch with what you need in life to thrive. That’s transformational.

The wild beauty of Erth provides an invitation to align with the rhythms of nature and return to a sense of belonging in your body, self-acceptance and self-love. Your nervous system can return to balance, with carefully curated practices to meet your needs. You won't need to think about anything, just feel held in the serenity of our surroundings and our comfortable home.
It’s an opportunity for nourishment, rest, rejuvenation, play and joy. As we explore mind-body techniques you'll be expertly guided with care, attention and love to embody these transformational practices.
Our sense of safety, happiness, meaning and fulfilment is informed by how we feel on the inside, rather than a set of external circumstances. By creating space to listen to the quiet, inner voice of your soul, beyond the normal roles you play, you can gain clarity about how to align actions in the world with your unique dreams and desires.
When women come together they heal and grow, they are the medicine. We’ll share our stories and our wisdom. There will be laughter and fun, new friends will be made and memories created.
Peace and space is available for you, your agenda is yours. Whether curling up with a book or wandering over the land, there’s time to breathe and be you.
This is an opportunity to come home to yourself, feel nourished, connect to your creativity and inspiration, and rekindle your love of life.
Yoga & Meditation
Our days begin peacefully with guided heart-centred meditation in the magical 12th century chapel, connecting to what’s most alive in you. Insight Meditation (mindfulness), helps you access deeper self-awareness and self-understanding, to be free from suffering. Meditation helps you reduce stress, connect to feelings, integrate experiences, expand your perspective, discover inner resources, know inner calm, and awaken joy.
Morning yoga will be a combination of breath practices, alignment centred hatha yoga and nourishing movement with slow flow to help you get out of your head, release physical tension or energetic blocks and liberate your life force energy. All movement will be respectful of your female body, with an emphasis on what is kind and supportive. It’s about HOW you practice not how much you achieve. Throughout the retreat you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and explore how specific postures and techniques can be adapted to suit your particular needs, thereby creating an enjoyable and sustainable bedrock for continued self-practice.
Afternoon sessions in the yurt or chapel will be gentle and restorative to relax your body and mind. Restorative Yoga can improve sleep, sharpen cognition, regulate hormones, reduce inflammation, boost immunity and create a deep sense of wellbeing and ease. Louise will guide you with Yoga Nidra, an ancient relaxation technique which is deeply healing, transformative, and awakens creative insight.
The Retreat Experience
There will be informal discussions and journalling prompts to invite an intuitive understanding of what you need to thrive. You do not need 'fixing' and you already have much wisdom within.
We have river access nearby, perfect for wild swimming should you wish to. It’s a beautiful, private spot just a walk across the fields. This is not a structured activity on the retreat, but you will have time to explore.

There will be an optional excursion to the coast for a wonderful coastal walk combined with stunning beaches and a dip in the sea.
Retreat mealtimes will be un-rushed, the food plentiful and nourishing, seasonal and vegetarian. Often the best conversations happen as we share food together.
Evenings can be under the stars, by the fire pit, with stories and laughter or just enjoying the warmth of other women. Or curl up with a book on a comfy sofa in the lounge.

Sleep peacefully knowing you are being well cared for.
Before and After the Retreat
Before the retreat a 1-1 zoom call will be offered, so I can get to know your needs and you can ask questions.
Yoga and meditation fosters profound self-connection, and I hope you’ll leave the retreat inspired with a set of tools for ongoing practice.
After the retreat you’ll be invited to a group call (optional) to reflect on how you’re integrating any insights, with the opportunity to ask questions or get support.

About Louise
Louise has been a committed student and practitioner of meditation and yoga since the early nineties, and has been teaching since 2011, guiding hundreds of students in class, workshops and on retreat.
Louise has focused most of her teaching career on supporting women through various life stages like pregnancy, motherhood and menopause, as a teacher, doula and mentor. She loves to dispel myths and make the teachings accessible, relatable and enjoyable. Firmly believing in the power of community, her classes are inclusive and welcoming. She brings heart and passion to her teaching, inspiring students to find their own reasons for practice.

Since going through menopause Louise has delved deeply into effective mind-body solutions for creating nervous system regulation, resilience and ease during the second half of life. She understands the importance of tending to past experiences with great care and compassion, in order to heal. She respects life's Rites of Passage as a gateway to deep learning, and has accompanied women both at birth and death. From these experiences she knows that life is really all about LOVE.
Her training has included Embodied Yoga Principles and coaching, advanced Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater, experiential anatomy with Judith Lasater and Mary Richards, and a 2 year mindfulness meditation training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Grounded spirituality is at the heart of her work. She also has a good understanding of lifestyle interventions like appropriate strength training and good nutrition.

Louise is a keen hiker and recently completed a 106km continuous trek. She loves to guide others on walks, helping them have fun, improve technique and enjoy connecting with nature. She lives in Surrey and is married with two sons and two step sons, loves good food, good company and most things creative.
